Written translation is our core business and our raison d’être. Although we specialise in translations in the social economy sector, we translate all types of texts in a wide range of language combinations.

We also translate and adapt subtitles for all kinds of audiovisual material. Subtitles can be created directly from a video or from a transcription of it, or from subtitles already translated into another language.

Either way, subtitles usually have to be synchronised so that they are easy and comfortable to read. This is something we also do, thereby providing you with a definitive file that can be incorporated into your video footage so that it’s ready to watch.

We proofread original texts. We check for typos and for spelling and style mistakes that may have been overlooked, ensuring that your text is ready to be published.

If the text to be corrected is a translation or has been written by a non-native, we proofread it to guarantee a perfect result. In such cases, we need to assess the quality of the text before offering a quote.

We transcribe all sorts of audiovisual material into various languages (please contact us to find out if we transcribe from the language you need). Transcriptions are used when working with audio material in written format, either to add subtitles or to use the content in other ways.

Transcription is often time-consuming but, in many cases, very necessary.

We also offer layout services for all types of documents that need to be published. For this, we work together with Safekat, a reliable printing and typesetting company.

This collaboration simplifies the practical aspects of typesetting a document that has been translated into several languages, as coordinating translation and layout makes it easier to solve problems, agree on deadlines and avoid confusion.

At AEIOU, we don’t offer an interpreting service, but Zenobia, our sister cooperative, offers simultaneous, consecutive and bilateral interpreting, as well as locution services. 

They specialise in English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Modern Arabic, Dariya (Moroccan Arabic) and Spanish.

This collaboration makes the practicalities of preparing documentation for an event smoother, because coordinating written translation and interpreting makes it easier to share reference material and for discussing any specific linguistic issues.
